VISUALS IN (AS) STORYTELLING

OKAY! after a whole night of thinking.
i finally figured out what i want to do,

you see, when you see an object, you would be wondering why it is
placed there, what was there before, what was there after.

lets give a very bad example.
you see our very own Sir stanford Raffles standing there by the
singapore river with his arm crossed,
immediately you would think, what is it about him, why is he placed
there, why is his arm crossed, what is his character like,

HOWEVER, if we were to paint the white (or black) figure of him with
punk clothes, put on a fancy cowboy hat, place a cigar in his hand,
and a ring on his fingers, replace with torn and tattered boots, it
would tell a different story right?

similarly, our SINGAPORE ART MUSEUM, was once painted in graffitti and
it did attract much more visitors for that month. WHY.
and the toilets in paragon a long while back, where every toilet was
10cents per entry but paragon's was 20cents, simply because the story
told in its interior.

so i guess this is where my interest lies, forget about those past
entries!
having the story told via visuals!

(: and this is probably what my research would consist of.

- story telling in general
-visuals playing a part in story telling
-impact of visuals in the storytelling
-visuals symbolism

add on to the list later. (:
